Our Approach

At WSCS, we believe that a student can thrive during this often difficult time of life. We have created an environment where students feel accepted, valued, and cherished. We partner with families to create a supportive, faith-driven community, fostering open communication and collaboration.

Students thrive in an engaging, hands-on learning environment that encourages curiosity, play, exploration, and academic achievement. Through small class sizes, individualized instruction, and Christ-centered teaching, we cultivate a love for knowledge and character development, preparing students for success in high school and beyond.

Our Philosophy

At WSCS, we are committed to developing the whole child—spiritually, academically, socially, and physically—in a loving and nurturing environment. Every student is uniquely gifted by God, and our goal is to cultivate their natural curiosity through developmentally appropriate, hands-on learning.

Middle School (6-8) students transition into subject-specific classes, preparing them for greater responsibility and academic rigor.

Students explore and expand their talents through enrichment programs, hands-on projects, and collaborative learning experiences.

By integrating faith and education, we encourage children to grow in both knowledge and character, equipping them for future success.

Spiritual Development

We recognize the responsibility of partnering with parents in nurturing their child’s spiritual growth. At WSCS, students experience:

Daily Christ-Centered Teaching – Biblical principles are woven into every subject, reinforcing faith in everyday learning.
Biblical Foundation – Students are immersed in SUMMIT Ministries curriculum, strengthening their understanding of God’s Word and building character.
Faith in Action – Students learn to serve others, make wise choices, and grow in wisdom and kindness. Students also participate in weekly chapels.

By planting the seeds of God’s Word early, we help students develop a strong spiritual foundation that will guide them throughout their lives.

Academic Excellence & Curriculum

At WSCS, we believe in challenging students to reach their full potential while providing support to ensure success. Our comprehensive curriculum includes:

Language Arts (Houghton Mifflin) – Students have a robust literature and grammar curriculum. Students read great works of literature as well as excerpts from stories.
Social Studies & History – Integrated with language arts, encouraging connections between historical events and literary exploration. Students study from Ancient history to medieval times, following the timeline all the way to the development of the Western world to current day.
Mathematics (McGraw Hill) – A spiral-based approach that reinforces math fluency, problem-solving, and conceptual understanding. Students are able to accelerate their Math track based upon testing and teacher recommendation.
Science (McGraw Hill) – A hands-on, inquiry-based curriculum. Science will introduce elements of earth science, life science, and physical science. Students are also able to pursue interests in passions through science fair projects.
Art & Music – Encouraging creative expression, fine motor development, and an appreciation for the arts.
SUMMIT Ministries Bible Curriculum – Instilling biblical truth and spiritual growth through daily lessons. Students are challenged to better understand God’s truth and how it pertains to daily life.

Enrichment & Experiential Learning

Beyond core academics, WSCS provides dynamic, hands-on learning experiences that engage students and bring education to life:

STEM & Hands-On Science – Interactive science experiments and projects encourage innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
Performing & Visual Arts – Students participate in two stage productions per year, developing skills in music, drama, and artistic expression under the guidance of specialized teachers.
Physical Education– Daily opportunities for movement, play, and team-building promote healthy development.
Design and Production provides opportunity for Project-Based Learning – Students apply their knowledge through real-world projects. Students are introduced to 3-D Printing, video editing, CNC, laser engraving, and engineering projects.

These experiences allow students to collaborate, think creatively, and showcase their talents and abilities.
