Jasmine, Class of 2018

“WSCS teaches us to love God, His people, and His things. As I have met new friends at UNC Chapel Hill, they are often amazed at how relatable I am because I come from a Christian school. They often worry that I that will judgmental and elitist. WSCS has such a diverse student population. I have been able to establish connection with those who think, look, and behave differently than I do. I have learned to debate without being argumentative. How to disagree without being hurtful, and how to be competitive yet compassionate. WSCS is more than just a school, though it is a great one. WSCS made me a better person. When I struggled with balancing competition with compassion, my teachers were there for me. When I had to make a decision about where to go to college, my teachers and school family were there. This school not only prepares people for academic success, they also prepare you for life, and to me that was just as valuable as the education.”
