#WSCSNext40 Update 2 - WSCS is opening for 2019-2020!
It has been a busy, but very productive week for Winston Salem Christian School as we look forward to our #WSCSNext40. I wanted to provide you with some updates to keep families informed during this process. I want to communicate first and foremost that we are moving forward to open our doors ELC through 12th grade. Here are updates on the process:
I met with senior administration at Wake Forest University on Monday, and they were receptive and gracious during our conversation. We all left the meeting optimistic for WSCS to remain in our current location until July of 2020, providing the needed time for transition. There are some details we are finalizing, and plan to make an official announcement in the next 2 weeks. I also met with New Jerusalem Cathedral and they shared their willingness to partner with us on the Patterson Avenue Property. We are looking at the opportunity to purchase the property and make the necessary improvements to move ELC through 12th grade to this property for the fall of 2020. These are two great answers to prayer, and we will work to finalize and communicate details in the 2 week window.
Our early enrollment windowed closed on Saturday, and I am excited to say we have far surpassed our numbers from early enrollment last year. We have continued with our admissions and enrollment process, and we continue to see students inquire and move through the admissions process. As you communicate in the community, please communicate we are opening for the 2019-2020 school year, and we are excited about how God is orchestrating so many details for the coming years. We will expand the early registration time until February 28th to accommodate families that were waiting to hear about our location details and future plans. We are excited about the opportunities available to us, and grateful at the ability to see God’s hand direct our future.
When details are complete about the ability to remain here until July of 2020 and transition to a new property, we will enter a phase of fundraising for a capital campaign that will enable our Early Learning Center through 12th grade to relocate. It is our goal to raise 2 million dollars in the community to purchase the Patterson property, upfit the interior, and provide new playground and outdoor spaces. We will be providing naming opportunities for corporate or individual gifts. These opportunities will be available by the end of the week
Please pray for the details of our location transition
Thank God for the elevated status of Winston Salem Christian School
Pray for families to continue the admissions and enrollment process
Pray for donors and sponsors as we engage a capital campaign for our new facility opportunities
Looking forward to the next 40 years of Christian education,
Dr. Bryan Wolfe
