IMPORTANT WSCS INFORMATION

March 11, 2019
By Dr. Bryan Wolfe

Dear Winston-Salem Christian School (WSCS) Family:

I deeply regret to inform you that we find ourselves in an extremely difficult and challenging situation, and am asking for your fervent prayers. After providing Wake Forest University and Winston Salem First with all the requested information needed to move forward with a one-year lease extension at the current property, we have received from both parties a new set of requirements that must be met before they are willing to move forward with the proposed extension. Our Board is working diligently to address these issues with the help of legal counsel, and while we are somewhat hopeful that these issues can still be resolved, we wanted to impress upon you the urgency of the situation and to ask for your prayers, enrollment, and financial support.

We will be releasing the following statement to the press:

"Due to expectations placed upon Winston-Salem Christian School (WSCS) by Wake Forest University and Winston-Salem First, in order for WSCS to move forward for the 2019-2020 academic school year, the School's Board has clearly and unequivocally stated that 250 students (i.e., 200 K-12 and 50 ELC students, we currently have 160 in the K-12 and 40 in the ELC.) must be enrolled and $400,000 (we currently have $100,000)  in raised capital must be in hand by April 1, 2019 for WSCS to be viable. If these benchmarks are not met by the April 1st deadline, we will have no choice but to close our School’s doors on May 31st."

I trust that God can “do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine” and am praying that we far exceed these numbers. However, we need your help to spread the word about our cause and to help us raise the needed funds by this deadline.

I fully believe in the education and ministry of Winston Salem Christian School to a diverse population that reflects our unique and diverse city, and look forward to seeing our immediate school community and the greater Triad community respond with bold action.

Sincerely,

Dr. Bryan Wolfe
