Q. When will I be notified of my student's acceptance at Winston Salem Christian School?
Applicants who have completed all requirements for admission by February 1st, will be notified before March 1st. Applications received after February 1st, will be considered on a space available basis.
Q. Do I have to be a member of a particular church to be accepted at Winston Salem Christian School?
While we encourage all of our families to attend church, and WSCS is a ministry of Winston Salem First, the WSCS community represents approximately 70 churches in the Triad area.
Q. Does Winston Salem Christian School use religious textbook series?
WSCS uses standard textbooks such as those used in other private or public schools for courses other than Bible courses. However, all of our courses are taught by teachers who are professing Christians and who teach from a biblical worldview.
Q. Is Winston Salem Christian School an accredited school?
Yes. WSCS is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Our accreditation is accepted by all colleges and universities in the United States.
Q. Does my child need to take an entrance test at Winston Salem Christian School?
Your child may be tested to determine proper placement in our classes. The test will cover material that the child has already studied and will be scored according to the national norms for the child's current level of schooling. Students in upper grades will also be asked for a writing sample. Your child's current school grades as well as the current school recommendation will be reviewed as a part of the admission decision.
Q. Does Winston Salem Christian School provide student transportation services?
WSCS does not offer student transportation; however, we do work to connect families in close proximity in order to arrange possible carpooling situations. Please contact the Admission Office for further information.

Field trips and other extra curricular trips may be offered at an additional cost.
Q. What is the teacher/student ratio at Winston Salem Christian School?
WSCS’ teacher to student ratio is 1 to 16 school-wide.
Q. What is the difference between a Parent Tour and Discover WSCS?
Parent Tours are for parents only and focus on curriculum, school philosophy, and seeing the classes in session. The Discover WSCS are held after school hours and are aimed more at the interests of the students. Student activities are highlighted during the Showcase event. We recommend that parents attend a Prospective Parent Tour and that they bring their children for the Admission Showcase.
