Winston Salem Christian School will be hosting the first Run and Roar 5K & Fun Run on Saturday, April 21, 2018. The Fun Run will begin at 8:30 am followed by the 5K at 9:00 am.
This event will focus on healthy living as a community while helping to build our new outdoor learning environment and also to create a new virtual and augmented reality lab. The Run and Roar 5K is funded by sponsor donations and runner entry fees. All profits will benefit student education.

Race day will include the 5K race, a kids Fun Run, and an after-race celebration party including food, vendors, and bounce houses.
Children are welcome and encouraged to participate; parents will need to supervise their children on the 5K course. An adult must accompany younger children. A Fun Run is available on the WSCS campus for kindergarten to fifth grade students.
The Run and Roar 5K is a community-wide event. All are encouraged to join the fun. Runners/walkers with strollers are welcome on the 5K course. In consideration of the safety of all participants, no animals, skateboards, bikes, scooters or skates will be allowed in the official race area.
The Fun Run race entry fee of $15 includes a race t-shirt. 5K participants will receive a 5K t-shirt and a swag bag from our sponsors with each $35 registration fee.
Fuel up the night before the race with a spaghetti supper from 5:30-7:30pm at our Silent Auction. Dinner will include spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, dessert, and tea or water. There will be baskets and other great items to bid! The dinner is floating so you can also get your dinner to go if you don't want to wait for the bidding to end at 7:00pm. Tickets for the dinner and auction will be on sale at the front desk March 1-April 18. Adults $10 and children $5 (up to 5th grade) with a $30 immediate family maximum.
Individuals who register for the race can purchase dinner tickets for a discounted price as part of the race packet. Be sure to select the spaghetti dinner as an add-on when you register. Race packets, and dinner tickets if purchased when registering, will be available Friday at the dinner and auction or before the race on Saturday.
Registration will be online only. Space permitting, race day registration should be available but those runners may not receive a shirt. Please note: You must register by 3/21/2018 to be guaranteed a race shirt!
In addition to race participants, we expect to welcome families cheering on the runners. This population creates an amazing opportunity for businesses to reach a wide audience.
In an effort to reduce expenses and maximize the dollars available to donate to the school, sponsorship opportunities are being offered. Sponsorship can be in the form of cash donations, in-kind donations of food, prizes, give-aways or race-team participation. Several levels of sponsorship are available with many providing advertising during the race. Sponsors will also have the option to purchase a booth at the race.
